Faculty Biographies
Robert S. Boyd’s background includes a 30 year career in banking, investment banking, and U.S. Government finance. He held several strategic and retail banking positions at Citibank, both in New York and in Western Europe, including Chief of Staff to the Vice Chairman. As head of the Corporate Finance department for two investment banking firms, he was responsible for public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and raising private capital funds. Most recently, he was CEO of a bank consulting firm, specializing in mergers and strategic planning. His research focus includes investment banking and mergers/acquisitions in Southeast Asia, as well as financial deregulation activities in the region, and regulatory responses to rising credit problems throughout Asia. He was honored as "Professor of the Year" for the Graduate MBA Program in October, 2002, and was honored as "Professor of the Year" for the Nanyang Fellows Executive Education Program in June, 2003.
Mr Boyd obtained his MBA degree from Harvard Business School, and is a graduate of the HBS/Harvard Kennedy School Program for Senior Managers in Government. From 1995 through 2003, he served on the Board of Directors of the Harvard Business School Global Alumni Association in Boston. He is also on the Executive Committee of the Harvard Club of Singapore.
