Faculty Biographies

Dr Lang teaches in the Division of Strategy, Management and Organization of the Nanyang Business School (NBS) in the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Prior to her career in NBS, she taught at the University of Malaya (Malaysia), Boston University (U.S.A), and Massey University (New Zealand). She was awarded Excellent Service Awards for two consecutive years in 1997 and 1998. She obtained her doctorate in business administration from Boston University and won the MITRE Corporation and Journal of Knowledge Management Best Paper Award in 2001.

Currently, she teaches “organizational behavior and design” at the undergraduate level and “creative thinking and problem solving” at the MBA level. Her research interests include cross-cultural challenges, knowledge management, and organizational behavior. Her academic publications include studies on identity and job stress, strategic patenting, and enablers of knowledge flows. She has also published a book entitled Experiencing Organizational Behavior and Management.

As a training and development consultant, she has designed and delivered a wide range of seminars and workshops in areas like decision making, team building, self-assessment and self-discovery, conflict resolution, strategic management, leadership development, and knowledge management. She has consulted with Hong Leong Group, JVC, Malaysian Airlines, HMO, and the Civil Service College, among others. Currently, she is involved in the development and delivery of a customized module in Organizational Behavior for the Singapore Armed Forces Training Institute (SAFTI).
