Faculty Biographies
Dr Hooi is Associate Professor in Marketing and International Business, and has recently been appointed as the Vice Dean of Masters Program in Nanyang Business School. Dr Hooi graduated from the Manchester Business School. He is a Chartered Accountant and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. He holds the position of Secretary-General of the Asia Pacific Marketing Federation Foundation, a Fellow of the Pan Pacific Business Association (University of Nebraska) and an International Advisory Council Member of School of Business Management, Bandung Institute of Technology., . Prior to joining academia, Dr Hooi was an auditor with a Professional Practice, a Manager with a British MNC and a Regional Asia-Pacific Fiscal Coordinator with a US-French MNC. He was a Visiting Scholar at the Sloan School, MIT and has published widely in various journals. He is Co-Editor of the Nanyang Business Review and an editorial board member of the Journal of Euro-Asian Strategic Management, the Journal of Creativity and Innovation Management and the Journal of Leadership and Organizational Studies. He co-authored the Bestseller "Rethinking Marketing" with Philip Kotler, Hermawan Kartajaya and Sandra Liu.
Dr Hooi has delivered a number of Senior Executive Development Programs/Seminars for organizations which include Singapore Airlines, Ministry of Manpower, Sumitomo Trust, Monetary Authority of Singapore, Federal Express, General Electric, National University Hospital, Jebsen and Jessen, Marketing Institute of Singapore, Eltech Electonics, NTUC Comfort, Fisher Controls, Matsushita Electric, Indian Bank, Singapore International Chamber of Commerce, Philips, Hewlett Packard, Mendaki, DHL (Asia-Pacific), Du Pont (Asia-Pacific), ESSO (Malaysia), Petronas (Malaysia) and KPMG (Mauritius). He has received several awards from Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University including Execellence in Teaching award and the Marketing Teacher of the Year award.
