This course examines how intra- and extra- organisational factors influence the utilisation of human capital, and how organisations’ responses to these factors determine their effectiveness. The focus is on developing, maintaining and improving workforce capability. This course also explores the challenges of building competitive advantage through effective human capital management in the organisation of the 21st Century. A multi-faceted approach is adopted reflecting the complexity of the environment and issues faced. Topics may include: Talent and workforce planning in a dynamic environment; building a positive human capital reputation for the organisation; systems thinking; organisational change and organisational learning; dynamics of organisational culture, assessing human capital investments; linking corporate strategy and human capital management, and leveraging on emerging technologies.
