Alumni Affairs

The journey of creating, sustaining and breathing life into an alumni association requires the efforts of volunteers. As we compare ourselves against the successful alumni associations of world-class universities, I am glad that we have a cadre of volunteers, both from our graduates and the Nanyang Business School who continue to contribute their valuable time to laying the foundation of The Nanyang Business School Alumni Association (“the Association”).

The year has come and gone, and amidst regular activities organized to provide ample opportunities for the alumni community to network and re-connect with each other and Nanyang Business School, we have plans to take on greater challenges.

When the Executive Committee was re-elected at the 14th Annual General Meeting, we decided to set up a dedicated Strategic Initiative team within the Association to help lay our path for the future. One of the outcomes was the launch of The Nanyang Business School Alumni Association Distinguished Leaders Forum. The Association invited celebrity banker and aspirational leader, Mr Richard Stanley, Chief Executive Officer of DBS Group Holdings & DBS Bank to speak at its inaugural forum – A CEO’S Perspective: My Vision of Banking in the 21st Century. Shorty after that, the Association invited Mr Salman Haider, Head of Wealth Management from Citibank to share insights on the recent financial markets movement and outlook at an exclusive discussion on Financial Markets in Perspective.

We look forward to working with the Nanyang Business School to reach out to our future alumni, the undergraduates of today, as we believe in order to bond effectively, the first link must be established when the undergraduates are still in school. A series of joint events with the undergraduates are being planned to foster this bond.

Many more plans lay ahead as we forge towards strengthening our alumni ties. We look forward to exciting days ahead and the support of all in the Association.
