It is exactly 10 years since the first batch of Nanyang MBA graduated at the first Nanyang MBA convocation ceremony in Sep 1993. We came a long way since, and the profile of the students had since changed. I am sure many of you will still remember the eager faces of fellow MBA students attending your first lessons at NTU and many of you would have treasured the good times you had during you're your course of study and during the MBA Business Study Missions.

The Nanyang MBA Alumni Executive Committee takes pride in being able to serve you, to bring back memories of those good times as MBA participants and to help provide a platform for all our alumni to network.

Networking is so important in the business world, and the age old Chinese "guanxi" is just about feeling at ease with one another to develop the business trust. The Nanyang MBA Alumni Association wants to provide a networking platform for all of you.

The Singapore economy is going through a rough patch. We know of the structural unemployment, loss of jobs and the challenges brought about by external environment. As Singapore adapts to these changes and to the changing market conditions, and as many of us start the journey into the seven hour market radius defined by our Prime Minister Mr. Goh Chok Tong, it is important to know the familiar faces around us. The activities of the Nanyang MBA Alumni Association will provide that environment for all of us to be familiar faces to one another.

We believe that with the slowing economy and with creeping technical recession developing into a full recession for Singapore, many of us are looking for opportunities, and these opportunities may well be in the hands of your MBA school mates or fellow alumni.

Truly it is well said, "Knowing HOW helps start the journey into the business world, and knowing WHO helps complete the journey," and vice versa.

The committee takes pride in presenting ourselves to you and letting you know our objectives, giving you a report on past events and alerting you to our calendar of events. We hope you will join us to make the Association a truly valuable community that serves its members well.
