Ms Chong Siak Ching joined the National Gallery Singapore as Chief Executive Officer on 1 April 2013. Providing strategic leadership to the Gallery, she contributes towards the realisation of the Gallery’s organisational vision and provides overall guidance on its exhibition and programming strategies. Ms Chong also heads the cluster of three visual arts institutions under the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, namely the National Gallery Singapore, the Singapore Art Museum and the Singapore Tyler Print Institute.

Prior to joining the Gallery, Ms Chong was the President and CEO of Ascendas, a company with presence in 10 countries across Asia. Ms Chong is presently an Independent Director on the Board of Singapore Press Holdings, and member of the National University of Singapore (NUS) Board of Trustees. She is also a board member of Jurong Health Services, management board member of the Institute of Real Estate Studies at NUS, member of the Advisory Board at Nanyang Business School, and member of the Yale-NUS College Governing Board. She is also serving as a council member of both the Singapore Business Federation and the National Arts Council.

Ms Chong graduated with Honours in Estate Management from NUS and was awarded a Gold Medal by the Singapore Institute of Surveyors and Valuers. She obtained her MBA from NUS in 1991 and completed the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard Business School in 1998.

Ms Chong was conferred the NUS Distinguished Alumni Award by the Faculty of Architecture and Building Management in 1999 and the NUS Distinguished Alumni Service Award in 2009. She was recognized as ‘Outstanding CEO of the Year’ in the Singapore Business Awards 2009 for her leadership and dynamism in establishing Ascendas as Asia’s leading provider of business space.​
