Marketing & International Business

The faculty of the Marketing and International Business (MIB) Division is global and diverse, with more than half hailing from North America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific. A good proportion of our faculty members have extensive business experience and many continue to consult for major corporations in the region, bringing to their teaching and research industry-relevant scholarship.

The Division is research active, with expertise in consumer behaviour, consumer psychology, cross-cultural research, services marketing, tourism and hospitality, international business, and marketing strategy. Faculty members have published in many of the world's leading academic journals including the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Marketing Science, Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, and Annals of Tourism Research. From 2008 to 2010, our faculty members have collectively produced 99 journal articles, 10 books, 31 book chapters and 57 conference papers. We also promote research through seminars that feature top international scholars.

In mid-2011, the Division helped establish the Institute on Asian Consumer Insight (ACI), a national institute co-funded by Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and the Singapore Economic Development Board. The Institute will partner NTU researchers with leading academics and corporations in Singapore and around the world to discover valuable insights into Asian consumer behaviour. In particular, it will draw heavily on the resources of the MIB Division, the Culture Science Institute and the Center for Leadership & Cultural Intelligence.

At the undergraduate level, the Division offers courses in marketing, and tourism and hospitality management. It also offers two specialisations in the Nanyang MBA programme: Marketing and International Business.
