Leadership, Management & Organisation

Our Faculty

We are a community of more than 30 international scholars from 15 different countries, with PhDs from research-intensive universities on four continents. We work in four major areas: leadership; organisational behaviour; human resource management; and communication management.

Our Research

We focus on synthesising knowledge of the East and West. Some of our distinctive research areas include global leadership; talent management; human resource practices; culture science; and cultural intelligence. We operate three unique research centres:

  • The Asian Business Case Centre houses more than 150 business cases. It specialises in teaching and researching Asian management and business using the case method.

  • The Culture Science Institute (CSI) investigates cultural issues of national and global importance holistically, from brain-based, cognitive, behavioural, evolutionary, and life science perspectives.

  • The Centre for Leadership & Cultural Intelligence (CLCI) leads in generating knowledge, assessments and programmes for developing culturally intelligent individuals, teams, and organisations. CLCI collaborates extensively with the Center for Leadership Development (CLD) at the SAFTI Military Institute and the Singapore Armed Forces-NTU Academy to develop leadership technologies, education and science associated with military leadership.

Our Programmes

We offer the world’s first Human Resource Consulting (HRC) undergraduate business programme. Our students develop in-depth competencies in areas such as consulting through HR research; selection and assessment; design of rewards and incentives; performance management; HR metrics and technologies; mobile- and e-learning instruction and cultural intelligence.

Our state-of-the-art communication management programme uses a comprehensive multi-media approach, such as online sharing of student presentations and writing; extensive peer and instructor reviews; social media and case studies to groom the confident and versatile communicators so sought after in the global workplace.

At the graduate level, we emphasise developing leadership capabilities. Our courses include talent management; executive coaching; communication management and crisis management.
