Banking & Finance Main Track

With Singapore being a financial hub in the region, there is an increasing demand for talent in banks and finance-related firms. The NBS Banking and Finance (B&F) specialisation offers a curriculum that is built on continuous review and collaboration with government regulators and premier employers in the financial industry. The curriculum has been structured to train and prepare students to meet the needs of the rapidly changing financial environment. Digital literacy courses are a core component of the B&F curriculum, as students learn about emerging technologies as well as how to produce useful and actionable information that can make a positive impact on the company's operations and profitability. B&F students are also required to take up communication, cultural intelligence and career foundation courses so that they have a combination of skills for the up-and-coming roles.

NBS is among a select group of top business schools to be recognised as a CFA Program Partner Institution by CFA Institute, a highly regarded global professional body that awards the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) credential. Widely considered as the most rigorous certification programme amongst the investment profession, the CFA Program is the global standard for developing the skills, standards, competence and integrity of financial analysts, portfolio managers, investment advisers and other investment professionals worldwide. Recognition as a CFA Program Partner signals to the industry and top employers that the NBS B&F curriculum is closely tied to professional practice and is well-suited to preparing students to sit for the CFA examinations.

NBS is also an academic partner with Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association® (CAIA Association), which works to promote education and professionalism in the alternative investment industry. This academic partnership demonstrates that the NBS curriculum covers a substantial portion of topics in the CAIA curriculum.
