Programme Overview

In the volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VU​CA) world of today, characterized by disruption and rapid change, the role of enterprise risk management (ERM) has become more complex and criticalthan before. Having a strong grasp of ERM concepts and skills are essential for managing risks, creating value and maintaining the long-term growth and sustainability of an organization.

Nanyang Enterprise Risk Management (Nanyang ERM) is an intensive programme, designed to help executives deepen their knowledge and skills in ERM concepts, processes, tools and frameworks. The programme enables management and executives to adopt a holistic view of risk exposure and improve the alignment between strategy, risk and performance of an organisation. This is the first executive education programme in Asia that offers a compelling 3-in-1 value proposition:

  2. About RIMS Certification

    *About RIMS-CRMP© Certification:
    RIMS is a global professional body dedicated to advancing the practice of risk management across industries. The RIMS-CRMP credential defines the highest achievement in risk competencies as it is the only risk management certification in the world to be accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and complies with the ISO/IEC 17024:2012 standard for certification bodies.     Nanyang ERM Programme complements other study resources needed to prepare for the RIMS-CRMP© examination. Participation in the programme helps but does not guarantee a pass in the RIMS-CRMP© certification examination.

  4. Programme Structure

    Developed in consultation with prominent risk management practitioners and aligned with the examination domains of RIMS-CRMP, Nanyang ERM programme combines the best knowledge, management tools and frameworks from academia and industry (e.g. COSO framework and ISO 31000 Risk Management), to provide the best value to the participants.

    The programme consists of three modules of 2 to 3 days each. The outline and learning objectives of each module can be found in the programme broc​hure.

    While it is recommended to enrol for the full programme, each module can be taken independently, to suit the schedule and objectives of participants.

  6. Funding Support

    SkillsFuture Study Award For the Accountancy Sector
    • ​​Interested participants can apply for the SkillsFuture Study Award for the Accountancy sector. Successful applicants will receive a monetary award of $5,000 to defray the costs of study of the Nanyang ERM programme
    • This scheme is only applicable for self-sponsored Singapore citizens who sign up for 3 modules More information is available at: www.skillsfuture.sg/studyawards/accountancy​

    IBF Financial Training Scheme (FTS) – for MAS registered companies
    • ​Company-sponsored participants who are Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents are eligible for 50% funding of programme fee, subject to a cap of S$2,000 per participant per programme module.
    • Only Singapore Citizens aged 40 years old and above are eligible for 90% funding of programme fee, subject to a cap of S$2,000 per participant per programme module.

    Roland Teo

    Risk Management Office in Healthcare Organization

    Roland has held key positions for more than 20 years in boththe public and private sectors, specializing in enterprise risk, business continuity, credit management, and training and development for medium and large corporations in multi-industry environment (with businesses in Asia, India and the Middle East). He previously headed the ERM department in one of the largest Indonesian paper and pulp group operating the world's largest integrated paper mill. One of his key achievements was leading the launch of the Singapore government’s National Business Continuity Management Programme in 2008 as a director of Singapore Business Federation. Roland is a member of the risk and business continuity management standards development groups for ISO 31000 & ISO 22301, respectively. He is also board/committee member of several key risk management professional groups.
