IATA-Nanyang AMP (Aviation and Air Transport)

The aviation industry witnesses exponential annual growth in Asia alone, and requires trained and experienced airline managers to pilot its demands. Nanyang Technological University (NTU) has partnered with the International Air Transport Authority (IATA) and International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) to design a curriculum specifically for aviation professionals. This is the first time that IATA is collaborating with an Asian university to develop and upgrade human capital for the global aviation industry.​​


  • 1. OVERVIEW

    Participants will attend residential on the NTU Singapore campus and a two-week segment at IATA’s Training and Development Institute in Geneva, Switzerland, where they analyse hot-bed issues. This full-time 4-week programme addresses key aviation concerns such as:

    Programme Objectives

    The Aviation & Air Transport AMP (INAMP) is specially crafted so that aviation professionals like you can take greater advantage of Asia, the single largest market in the world. You will reward from a rich curriculum at the prestigious International Air Transport Authority (IATA) while expanding your global network.

    The Aviation & Air Transport AMP enables you to:

    • Acquire a broad understanding of critical business concepts from international faculty

    • Expand your network in the aviation industry. Graduates will be part of the Learning and Innovation Network and gain opportunities to participate in high level industry initiatives and events

    If you are a senior aviation professional or manager with the foresight to be a leader and play a role in the development and growth of the aviation industry, then the Aviation & Air Transport AMP is for you.

    Our class profile for the Aviation & Air Transport AMP includes exceptional senior managers with more than 8 years’ experience in the aviation and air transport sectors. They usually have a minimum of 5 years’ managerial experience and have an average age of 37. While majority of our participants are Singaporeans, we have also seen many international students.

    INTERNATIONAL AIR TRANSPORT ASSOCIATION (IATA)

    Established in 1945, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) is a global industry trade group of airlines, with international headquarters in Quebec, Canada, executive offices in Geneva, Switzerland and operations in more than 150 countries.

    The association currently comprises 240 airlines from 126 countries, which comprise 84% of the total air traffic. In line with its overarching mission to represent, lead and serve the airline industry, IATA spearheads numerous activities designed to provide safe and secure transportation to its passengers. The designation of airport codes, travel agent accreditation, cargo accreditation and myriad member services are among IATA’s activities.

    INTERNATIONAL CIVIL AVIAION ORGANISATION (ICAO)


    A specialized agency of the United Nations, International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) was created in 1944 to promote the safe and orderly development of international civil aviation throughout the world. It sets standards and regulations necessary for aviation safety, security, efficiency, capacity and environmental protection, amongst many other priorities. The Organisation serves as the forum for cooperation in all fields of civil aviation among its 192 Member States.

    You gain professional recognition

    This Advanced Management Programme and Executive MBA Programme grant you the professional credential of Certified Aviation Management Professional (AvMP) and you will be registered with IATA. You can use this AvMP designation after your name on business materials as a symbol of excellence and professionalism in the industry. Records are archived with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and are available for verification upon request. ​​​
  • 4. FEES AND SCHE​DULE

    Tuition Fees

    The tuition fee for the Aviation & Air Transport AMP in Aviation & Air Transport for 2018-19 academic year is S$31,050 nett. The fee covers tuition, most teaching materials and meals when classes are in session. Other expenses, accommodation and travel-related costs, are not included in the programme fee. Participants are responsible for all travel and visa arrangements.

    Programme Schedule

    Participants attend two 2-week segments at at IATA, Geneva, Switzerland in March and NTU Singapore main campus in August.
