The division contributes specialized Information Technology (IT) and
Operations Management (OM)expertise to three areas: MBA and undergraduate
programs, research and executive education.
It is responsible for the MBA specializations in E-Commerce, and Management
of Technology; and the undergraduate B.Bus specialization in IT. The course
offerings in these areas reflect the faculty's strengths in combining
knowledge of current developments, and their links with industry. These
links are reflected in the steady stream of senior executive speakers
from progressive organizations, and in the collaborations with industry
organizations such as Sun and Oracle.
Faculty research is highly collaborative and is conducted with colleagues
within NTU and overseas institutions, and with graduate students. Key
areas of research include various aspects of E-business, such as strategy,
marketing, technology, architecture, trust, and process redesign; IT careers;
IT and Organizational Controls; Enterprise Systems; IT and Telecommunications
Policy; Supply Chain Management, and Inventory Modeling.
Industry-oriented research and executive education are facilitated by
the School's Information Management Research Center. In-house executive
programs have been conducted for major organizations such as SIA, EDB,
OCBC, UBS and DHL. Public seminars have been conducted with faculty from
Templeton College, Oxford University and the Sloan School, MIT.
