The Applied Economics specialisation in NBS will not be available
to new students admitted into NBS in 2004/2005. However first year students
currently enrolled in the NBS will continue to have the option to select

The faculty members of the Applied Economics Division have strong credentials
from Oxford, UC Berkeley, U Penn and other top universities and are also
actively involved in research in areas such as International Economics,
Development Economics, Behavioural Economics and Internet Economics. They
have published in top economics journals including Journal of Political
Economy, Economic Journal, Journal of Economic Theory and Journal of Macroeconomics.
The Division offers both undergraduate and graduate programmes in economics
and has a sizable body of Ph.D. students. It also offers a unique Master
of Science (M.Sc.) programme which gives senior government officials and
corporate managers rigorous training in managerial economics. Our executive
programme in economic management provides comprehensive coverage of both
macro and mircoeconomic issues in the region, with special focus on Singapore
and China.
