Global Business
Communication: Balances, Shifts and the Asian Difference
Asia's ever-increasing economic and
political power is making its mark in company boardrooms, on the
trading floors of stock exchanges and in government offices
throughout the world. It is timely, therefore, to gather scholars
and practitioners to examine the Asian impact on global business
communication.
After 10 years, the Nanyang Business School at
Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, is
once again hosting the Asia Pacific Conference
of the Association
for Business Communication. Singapore, where people of different cultures, languages, and traditions
interact dynamically and creatively, is Southeast Asia's commercial
and financial hub. This unique global city surely provides the ideal location for such a conference.
Nanyang
Technological University (NTU) has a strong international
reputation for academic excellence, with the Nanyang Business
School's MBA programmes being ranked among the top three in Asia and the top 100 worldwide. NTU is home to over 20.000
undergraduate and graduate students. Its 2,500-strong teaching
and research staff from more than 40 countries ensure that the students benefit from an
intellectually challenging, yet practical education.
The conference venue, the Nanyang Executive Centre,
is set in the lush greenery of NTU's Yunnan
Garden campus. Apart from excellent conference facilities, the NEC also
offers conference participants stylish, well equipped
accommodation (advance booking is necessary).
The conference registration fee is SGD 200 and includes lunch on Thursday and Friday (27 & 28 March).
